These are fatigue shorts from Buzz Rickson's.

These are shorts versions of the BR40927, a full-length pant made from the same fabric and with the same details.

The tropical field uniforms that were adopted and issued during the Vietnam War, commonly known as "jungle fatigues," were hidden buttons on the first model, as were the trousers and jackets.

Most of the fighting in Vietnam took place in the jungle, and exposed buttons would get caught on branches and equipment, so the second model was improved to have hidden buttons that are not exposed outside the flap.

In addition, the straps that secure the contents of the cargo pockets have been eliminated, and the waist adjustment tabs have been changed from buttons to metal fittings, and the material is now ripstop fabric.

The first model was only adopted for a short period of time, so there are very few of them left, making it a rare item.

Buzz Rickson's has reissued this precious item.

These shorts are stylish not only for summer, but also when paired with long-sleeved items in early spring and autumn.
